Past Continuous Tense Nedir, Nasıl Kullanılır?

Past Continuous Tense Nedir?

Merhaba arkadaşlar, bugün İngilizcede past continuous tense konusunu ele alacağız. Past continuous tense nedir? Past continuous tense, Türkçede geçmişte devam eden eylemleri anlatmak için kullanılan bir zaman dilimidir. Bu zaman dilimini öğrenmeye ne dersiniz? Hadi başlayalım!

Past Continuous Tense Nasıl Oluşturulur?

Past continuous tense, was/were + V-ing şeklinde oluşturulur. Yani eylemin -ing takısı alması ve yardımcı fiilin was veya were olması gerekir. Was, tekil özneler için (I, he, she, it) kullanılırken, were çoğul özneler için (you, we, they) kullanılır. Örnekler:

  • I was reading a book when you called me. (Sen beni aradığında bir kitap okuyordum.)
  • They were playing soccer in the park yesterday. (Dün parkta futbol oynuyorlardı.)
  • She was studying for the exam all night.

  • He was sleeping at 10 o’clock last night. (Geçen gece saat 10’da uyuyordu.)
  • She was watching TV when the phone rang. (Telefon çaldığında televizyon izliyordu.)
  • They were having dinner while it was raining outside. (Dışarıda yağmur yağarken akşam yemeği yiyorlardı.)
